This is ridiculous. Thirty four of these Oklahoma senators do not understand basic human biology. A pregnancy does not begin at conception (when the sperm fertilizes the egg). It take several days, sometimes up to a week, for pregnancy to take place. After the sperm fertilizes the egg (if it even does), it needs to attach to the uterine wall. If the fertilized egg does not attach, the individual is not pregnant and the zygote will go on its merry way.

So… basically this bill is attacking something that may never even turn into a human. (In addition to attacking basic family planning rights, of course.) If they morally do not agree with contraceptives, then they shouldn’t use them. It is not okay for them to press their religious beliefs on an entire state of people.

This attack on women’s rights and choice is beyond frustrating. We are going backwards as a society. These senators do not represent the majority of people, but they are so organized and vocal that they present themselves as such.

We need to learn to speak up before situations like this take place. I feel as though our generation thinks this is a joke and that just because we have the right to choose what we do with our bodies and reproductive health NOW, that we will always have it. But, this situation is real, and it will have an awful ripple effect if we don’t begin to speak up. Let the majority be heard - because it is statistically proven that the majority of people are for family planning and legal contraceptives.

WHAT THE SHIT? At least with fucking Missouri there was a chance to vote on this. 

I’m beginning to become more and more concerned about women’s reproductive rights in America. Being in New York while I do have many choices, seeing all this reminds me how easy it would be to take my rights away.

But I still get people when I bring it up “M____ you’re being too sensitive. That won’t happen”
